# EmGee Labs (emgeelabs.in): full text > We build software for you, or with you, and we find the talent for your team. An engineering studio that builds software to order and places vetted developers. This domain says what it does, how the work is bought, and how to reach it. Every page of emgeelabs.in inlined, in the order a reader would take them. Which one fits is usually clear once the scope is written down; if it is not, say what you know and we will suggest one. Hourly Ongoing help, billed for the time used. Suited to maintenance, reviews, and the small changes that never add up to a project. Fixed price An agreed scope for an agreed price. It needs the scope written down first, which is work in itself, and it is the right shape when what has to be built is already clear. Dedicated team A team working only on your product, billed monthly. You set what it works on, and we say what each thing costs in time before it starts. The shape to pick when the scope will move as you learn. Frequently asked questions How do you price work? By the shape of the engagement rather than from a rate card. A dedicated team is billed monthly, a scope that is written down can be quoted as one price, and smaller ongoing work is billed for the hours used. There is no published rate here because the work is not uniform enough for one to mean anything: send the scope to hi@emgeelabs.in and you get a written quote before anything starts. How does an engagement start? With an email saying what you are building and what you need. We come back with questions, then with what we think the first piece of work should be and what it would cost. Nothing is billed for that exchange. If it is not work we should be doing, we will say so rather than take it. Who owns the code and the intellectual property? You do. Work you pay for is yours, and that goes in the agreement rather than being left implied. Where we use open-source components we say which ones and under which licences, so you know what you are shipping. Nothing built for a client is published here. Which timezones do you work in? Yours. EmGee Labs works in the client's timezone, including US hours, and the same goes for any other timezone a client works in; which hours those are is agreed at the start rather than left to chance. The team is in India, four and a half hours ahead of central Europe and ten and a half ahead of US Eastern, so an afternoon here already overlaps a European morning and an evening here the start of a North American day. Do you work with startups, or only established companies? Both. The size of the client is not what decides whether we take the work - whether the problem is clear enough to make progress on is. A founder with one page of notes and a company with a system nobody wants to touch are both ordinary places to start. Can we see something you have built? Yes, and that is the point of the tiles above. kingshand is published in full - the code, the design records and the tests - under an MIT licence, and this website is in the same account; both are yours to read before you talk to us. The restaurant system beside them is one we designed and built, and its own subdomain shows it in real screens of it running. Client work is under agreement and is not ours to show at all. How does developer placement work? It is vetting rather than supply. A recruiter matches the words on a CV; here the code is read first, and a developer is put in front of a business only after somebody has read it. Tell us what the team is missing and what it is working on, and what comes back is a short list rather than a stack of profiles.
